Day 190: Green & Yellow

I'll try to catch up with the photos that I couldn't upload in the beginning of the year :)  If you remember I started this project a while after the year was began, so if I want to finish it by the end of this year, I need to hurry :D

Nikon D90 (18-200mm  f/3.5-5.6) - 1/400s  f/11

Day 188: Green bouquet

Who said that only flowers con be arranged in bouquet? This tree has a natural bouquet of green stars leaves  and it will have it until autumn :)

Nikon D90 (18-200mm  f/3.5-5.6) - 1/160s  f/14

Day 187: Vintage sky

Let's go retro today and see the sky the way it looked like with the old cameras :)

Nikon D90 (18-200mm  f/3.5-5.6) - 1/125s  f/9

Day 186: Copycat

The clouds are getting weird and interesting again.  The clouds in this shot seemed to copy the shape of the tree beneath them.

Nikon D90 (18-200mm  f/3.5-5.6) - 1/125s  f/9

Day 185: Silkness

The gardenia is blooming beautifully! We have 6 flowers and there are more on their way :)

Nikon D90 (105mm  f/2.8) - 1/25s  f/9

Day 184: The culprit

Well, I could take a shot of one of the culprits :P  The aphids are so so so tiny that I needed extensive tubes in order to see them closer.  I can't tell you the itchiness that I had while I was taking the shot hehehe I don't like insects, but I love to take photos of them (yep, I'm complicated hihi).

Nikon D90 (105mm  f/2.8) + extensive tubes

Day 183: Aljaba (Fuchsia)

This is another flower on our garden.  She likes the shade and she always gave us lots and lots of beautiful bells :)
When I took this shot I realized that the plant was infected by aphids (pulgones) OMG!! I called my mom to know how to deal with them and luckily you only need to clean the plant with soapy water, quite easy, right? Thanks mom!! :D
Now, there are no more aphids yeah!!

Nikon D90 (105mm  f/2.8) - 1/5s  f/16

Day 182: Magnum New Guinea Impatiens (2nd try)

Hello!! After a week with headaches I can finally continue with my blog, I have several photos to upload :)
Remember this flower? Well, I tried a second time (with a tripod) and now the shot is as I wanted it to be, but I also took a close up to see if I liked that perspective better. I was right, I liked the close up more :)
What about you?

Nikon D90 (105mm  f/2.8) - 1/40s  f/18

Day 181: Gift of nature

The Hibiscus or Rosa China is a very easy plant to take care of, you only need to water it once a week and spray the leaves once or twice a day and in return she gives you lots and lots of beautiful flowers!

Nikon D90 (105mm  f/2.8) - 1/60s  f/6.3

Day 180: Magnum New Guinea Impatiens (Alegria del hogar)

This is another colorful plant that makes our balcony a happy and beautiful place :)
I'm not totally happy with this shot though, because it lack of sharpness, I mean, it is sharp but I wanted more depth of field and I couldn't achieve it handhelding the camera :(  (I didn't want to increase my ISO because it'll make the photo too grainy)  You'll see soon another attempt but this time with a tripod.

Nikon D90 (105mm  f/2.8) - 1/30s  f/13

Day 179: Sweet fragance

I love the smell of this flower! So sweet! You can't imagine how happy I was when I saw this beautiful flower opening! It's quite tricky to take care of this kind of plant, but it seems that I did it right! Now, I have another flower open and a third one on its way! :D

Nikon D90 (105mm  f/2.8) - 1/200s  f/10

Day 178: Thick clouds

I'm catching up after several of not posting any photos.  During the last week the sky continued to show  us weird, stormy like yet beautiful clouds.

Day 177: Pentagram II

I think yesterday I wanted so bad to be Friday that I totally forgot that it was Thursday hahaha The funny part is that I didn't realize of that until my husband arrived home. When he arrived I said to him, tomorrow is the book sale at the library, he smiled and said "tomorrow is Friday not Saturday" hahahaha

Luckily today IS FRIDAY, so weekend here we go!!!

Nikon D90 (18-200mm  f/3.5-5.6) - 1/500s  f/7.1

Day 172: Smile

There is always a reason for smiling, right?  Seems like the sky was very happy and wanted to smile to all of us :)

Nikon D90 (18-200mm f/3.5-5.6) - 1/640s  f/13

Day 171: Ink spots

During the weekend the sky was so amazing!! It had the most unusual clouds.  This one looks like ink stains on the sky.

Nikon D90 (18-200mm  f/3.5-5.6) - 1/1000s  f/13

Day 170: The other me

I love this photo!! It's so me hehe I had my camera on one side and my purse on the other, so no comfy place for the arms that were hanging in the air :P
Thanks hon for taking this shot :)

Panasonic DMC-ZS25 - 1/2000s  f/5

Day 169: Mystery

I really liked the mood and mystery that the brighter part of the photo creates.

Nikon D90 (105mm  f/2.8) - 1/50s  f/6.3

Day 168: Last rays of sun

Another beautiful sky with its cotton like clouds, but the thing that I liked more of this shot was the rays of sun on the upper part of the tree.

Nikon D90 (18-200mm f/3.5-5.6) - 1/200s  f/7.1

Day 167: Translucent stripes

Today is a day for lines :)  I liked the transparency of the plastic against the sun.

Nikon D90 (105mm  f/2.8) - 1/125s  f/7.1

Day 166: The storm is coming

On Monday the sky was sooo gorgeous!! It was covered with weird clouds, in some parts the clouds looked like the ones in the photo, in others was bigger clouds and even silk like ones.

Nikon D90 (18-200mm  f/3.5-5.6) - 1/1000s  f/18

Day 165: In love

These plant sticks are super cute!! They are 2 snakes tangled with each other.

Panasonic DMC-ZS25 - 1/2000s  f/6.3

Day 164: In the middle of nowhere

The views during the trip were really nice and luckily the weather was superb! I took this shot a while after leaving Santa Barbara.

Nikon D90 (18-200mm  f/3.5-5.6) - 1/800s  f/9

Day 163: Crisol

Our trip continue and I found this beautiful flower, unfortunately I don't know the name of it.  It was huge and looked like an artichoke (the part that you can't see of the flower that is).

Panasonic DMC-ZS25 - 1/2000s  f/4

Day 162: Santa Barbara

Santa Barbara is a beautiful city, all of the houses and buildings has Spanish architecture.  It also has this nice river that reflects the houses next to it.

Nikon D90 (18-200mm  f/3.5-5.6) - 1/400s  f/10

Day 161: Swan Lake

One of our stops was this gorgeous and peaceful temple called Self-Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine Temple.  It's located in Los Angeles.  It has a lake with 2 swans that always swim together.
If you go to LA stop here, you won't be disappointed :)

Nikon D90 (18-200mm  f/3.5-5.6) - 1/320s  f/9

Day 160: Dense bubbles

This photo was taken on the campus of the LAMCA (Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art). It has brea pits and when air gets inside the brea it releases a bubble. It was quite awesome to watch it.

Nikon D90 (18-200mm  f/3.5-5.6) - 1/640s  f/6.3
